  • Reviews for Revenge of the Fallen are starting to roll in: Big, dumb, & loud... just like I like it. The fact that it's two and a half hours long is a bit scary (i.e. Watchmen), but I don't foresee getting bored, either. More reviews here.
  • New Modest Mouse: They're releasing another vinyl 7" this weekend for "Vinyl Saturday". One side contains "The Whale Song", and the other "Autumn Beds" which you can download here, or listen to right here:

  • Evidently there's some debate about whether or not 40 minutes will be cut from Quentin Tarantino's Nazi-killing fest of a flick, Inglorious Basterds. Actually, the debate may be more about whether or not there ever was a debate to begin with. Either way, some people who've seen it seem pretty certain that movie would basically be nonsensical if that much was cut out of it.
  • Another awesome interview @ The A.V. Club, this time with vocalist Thomas Mars, of Phoenix.
  • A look back a last night's Jon & Kate Plus 8 episode (which I watch on occasion with my wife). They really need to just 86 the whole thing... this season's episodes have basically dealt with promoting other shows, and frivolous trips/purchases made by the now super-rich couple (interesting, considering that the only thing that ever gave the show any appeal whatsoever was the fact that it centered around the lives of a couple nobodies who had eight kids and not much else).
  • Finally.
  • Reunion news: Blur are back together, at least for long enough to be on tour, and hopefully for long enough to give us something new to jam to. Bob Nanna and Damon Atkinson (formerly of Braid & Hey Mercedes), along with a few others, are working on a new album. They're calling themselves Certain People I Know. Some of the guys who used to be in New Order (and Echo & the Bunnymen) have joined up with the bassist from Blur to put a new record out as Bad Lieutenant. And finally, let us all pray that this actually happens.
  • The Beastie Boys are working with Nas. Booyah.
  • The Tonight Show was pretty awkward last night. It seemed to be edited in a very odd way, the bits at the beginning just weren't very good (Conan visiting a wax museum, and selling off parts of the new studio for endorsements), and the audience was totally dead. But they did manage to book Will Arnett and Spinal Tap for the night, so it wasn't all bad:
